Fischer in 2012 USA Softball Women’s National Team


Following a three-day tryout camping in Ashland, Ohio, LMU’s Mike Fischer continues to be named towards the final roster for that 2012 USA Softball Women’s National Team, the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) of the usa introduced Wednesday. In The month of january, 12 sports athletes were named towards the National Team which week, 20 additional gamers attended the USA Softball Women’s National Team selection camping, competing for that final five spots around the roster.

The rest of the sports athletes who weren’t selected towards the Women’s National Team will from the 2012 USA Softball Women’s Elite National Team and can face the National Team in a number of exhibition games during the period of the following six days in Summersville, W.Veterans administration. (June 14) and Ashland, Ohio (June 18).

Following a World Cup, the Women’s National Team is slated to compete This summer 4-9 in the Canadian Open Fast Pitch Worldwide Championship in Surrey, B.C., Canada, and This summer 13-22 in the Worldwide Softball Federation (ISF) Women’s World Championship in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada.

Fischer makes 2012 annually of firsts for that Lion softball program as she gained the very first-ever All-America recognition for that program, was the very first player to earn an invite to test for that National Team and it is the first player to don both LMU crimson and navy and USA red-colored and blue.

Fischer finished her career setting nine PCSC and LMU career records, sitting atop the job charts for batting average (.387) home runs (65) doubles (51) RBI (172) runs obtained (184) total bases (494) slugging percentage (.784) on-base average (.494) and walks (127). She also finished third around the PCSC and LMU career hit lists with 244.
