Valentine’s Day may be a day for romance for many, but there are usually at least a few who won’t care to celebrate the holiday for sweethearts. Unless, of course, they have found a new love.

Kobe and Vanessa Bryant

Kobe and Vanessa Bryant’s split may have been a long time coming, but it was just before the recent holidays that the beautiful model made the decision to file for divorce from her cheating husband. The NBA star had allegedly strayed from his wife many times over the years, and back in 2003 he was even accused of rape by a hotel worker in Colorado.

Many thought the athlete got off easy when Vanessa decided to stick by her man considering he admitted to the infidelity that occurred just months after their first child was born. He apparently didn’t learn his lesson, and continued to become involved in numerous affairs, but his last was said to lead to the final end of his marriage.

Maria Sharapova and Sasha Vujacic

Maria Sharapova has called off her engagement to basketball player Sasha Vujacic.

The 25-year-old tennis ace told reporters at the U.S. Open on Friday the pair ended their relationship in the spring.

At her postmatch news conference – following a 6-1, 6-1 victory over NCAA runner-up Mallory Burdette to reach the fourth round – four-time Grand Slam champion Sharapova said matter-of-factly: ‘I was waiting for someone to actually ask me that question, but nobody did, directly.’

Word of their engagement came in October 2010, when Vujacic said he had proposed on the one-year anniversary of their first meeting at a friend’s barbecue.
